The Shamus Twins were formed by songwriters/singers Jerry Juden and Tim Morrow. The intent was to write and play in any style they wanted, to heck with the rest of the world. And to blast out some cool harmonies.
Turned out to be a damn good band, Messers Morrow and Juden having some sort of mystical synergy. Oh, and the aforementioned excellent songs and harmonies.
Their first self-titled CD has received great reviews and has sold all over the world. It featured Jerry and Tim with drummer Mark Healy. It featured straight ahead Rockers, Power Pop, Psychedelia, jazzy flavorings and Rockabilly type tunes.
Their second CD, titled Garden Of Weeds, has just been released and it's a knockout. Getting great reviews. It features Jerry, Tim, guitarist Dino Lambropoulos, drummers Perry Lopez and Mark Healy. It also has an array of styles, including Rootsy-Power Pop, Americana, a blusey Stones-ish number, Rock and Psychedelia.
The Shamus Twins have played most cool and uncool venues in the L.A. and SoCal beach areas. Additionally, they have become regulars at the International Pop Overthrow Festival, Los Angeles.
Tim also performs as a solo artist with his band, appropriately enough called The Tim Morrow Band. He and Jerry also do acoustic shows, together and solo.
In 2007 Tim released a solo CD called "Back To Delton", which garnered great reviews and placed high on David Bash's best CD's for the year. Jerry helped out on some bass and backing vocals. Mark Healy played drums.
Jerry and Tim met and formed a band long ago called The Murder Brothers. They changed the name to The Most and played a few cool clubs including The Troubador and the Starwood.
Jerry played in a band called the Moondogs which - after Jerry left - morphed into The Lonesome Strangers, which begat Randy Weeks, one of Jerry's favorite songwriters.
The Shamus Twins work in many music genres, including Traditional American Rock, Power Pop, Americana, Country (ala Neil Young) and Psychedelia.
